Norfolk, Va. - More than 300 sailors departed Hampton Roads on Monday.
The crew of the USS Monterey is deploying to the Arabian Gulf.
The Aegis guided-missile cruiser is heading there to relieve the USS Paul Hamilton.
Its last deployment was back in 2011.
The crew will be protecting the seas and providing humanitarian and disaster response, if necessary.
