Norfolk, Va. - The man charged with carjacking a woman in Norfolk told a judge he's mentally ill.

Gregg Baird tried to represent himself in a hearing this morning, but his family stopped the proceedings.

But before they could, Baird said he suffers from ADHD and depression.

He admitted that he stopped taking his medications for the last three days.

The judge decided to continue his case after his family, including his wife and mother, told the judge that he's mentally unstable and should not represent himself.

Baird is charged with carjacking a woman outside the Shenandoah Building in Norfolk yesterday morning.

He will be back in court next week while his family works to hire an attorney for him.
