Woman stabbed in grocery store parking lot in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach, Va. - A woman was stabbed in a grocery store parking lot on Friday afternoon, police tell NewsChannel 3.

Officers say a call came in at 12:46 p.m. on Friday of a stabbing in the Kroger parking lot in the 5200 block of Providence Road.

The victim received several stab wounds in a possible robbery attempt, police say. The suspect was last seen leaving the area on foot; no vehicle was seen.

The woman's injuries do not appear life-threatening according to officials.
