Suspect accused of shooting at man leaving party in Smithfield
Smithfield, Va. –Police need your help to find a man who has been accused of shooting at someone leaving a party in Smithfield.
They say on Feb. 28th at around 4 a.m., there were multiple call for shots fired in the Jersey Park Apartments area.
Officers responded and found 3 different groups of casings from 3 different calibers.
The victim told police that he was at a party at the apartments when a fight broke out. He says as he was leaving, three people started to shoot at him.
According to police, he then jumped into his vehicle and drove off. One of the rounds went through his back window and out through his front passenger side window. No one was hit police say.
Police say there were 20 rounds fired at the victim.
They’ve identified one of the shooters as Anthony Haywood. He is now wanted for attempted malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied dwelling, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and reckless handling of a firearm.
