(CNN) — So, who was more nervous to hit the links with the other: one of the world’s best golfers or the president of the United States?

Neither he nor Tiger Woods was, said President Barack Obama on Wednesday, because each knew they were hardly a hazard to the other.

“He knew that I wasn’t a big threat to his world ranking and I knew that I’d better keep my day job,” Obama told KGO, a CNN affiliate in San Francisco.

The two were partners at a Sunday golf round while Obama was on vacation in Florida, and Woods said on Tuesday that they beat Democratic donor Jim Crane, who owns the resort, and U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk.

Of Woods’ skills, Obama said, “He plays a different game than I do. He’s on another planet.”

But the president prepared for the round the way Woods did years ago: by training with Woods’ former coach, Butch Harmon.

Obama and Woods previously met in 2009 at the White House when the golf star was in town for a charity event.
