Update: Fire forces 12 out of their Norfolk home
Norfolk, Va. – An early morning fire forced 12 people out of their home.
Seven of them are children.
The fire started just before 3:30 a.m. Monday morning on 27th Street near Elkhorn Avenue.
Fire officials say everyone made it out of the home safely. They say one man tried to put out the fire.
He had to go to the hospital for breathing in too much smoke. A fire marshal responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire was electrical, officials tell NewsChannel 3.
