Abandoned NC elementary school damaged in ‘suspicious’ fire
Chowan Co., NC—Officials are investigating two suspicious fires.
One was reported at the old White Oak Elementary School. Calls came in at around 8 p.m. on Monday night. They say the school sustained significant damage and it took crews about 30-45 minutes to get it under control. The school is an abandoned building and has not been used in nearly a decade.
The other incident was a car fire. Officials say calls came in for this fire at around 9:30 p.m.
They say both cases are suspicious in nature and crews are still investigating.
No cause has been determined in either case.
