Demand for ammo is so great right now, bullets are being rationed.

Walmart announced they are only selling three boxes a day.

Locally-owned shops have already been doing it for months.

It's not a stance on gun control, though, they say if they didn't limit sales, someone would just come right in and buy their entire inventory.

"It comes to an advantage, you know, I kind of like it that I can't buy too many so I can come and shoot if I don't have any. But I'd like to buy a little more than one box," Taurean Jones said.

Shop owners say sales picked up when President Barack Obama was re-elected in November.

Then the Sandy Hook shooting sparked a gun control debate that has gun rights advocates worried that what's barely been able to stay on the shelves now, may not legally be allowed in the near future.

But despite all of this, the half dozen gun shop owners NewsChannel 3 spoke with, say they aren't charging customers more.

"Haven't seen too much of a drastic increase," Jones said.
