Coast Guard flies sea turtles to new homes
Turtle flight! Reporter Todd Corillo here. Photographer Matt Sonsalla and I went to Elizabeth City, NC for a very special story.
We were with the Coast Guard on a flight to Cape Cod, Massachusetts to pick up 35 cold-stunned sea turtles.
We also accompanied the turtles to Orlando, Florida where they will go to “new homes for the holidays.”

20 Kemps Ridley and 15 loggerhead turtles will be loaded onto the C130 for our flight to Orlando.
