Update: Body found in woods near Newtown Road now identified

Virginia Beach, Va. – State police are investigating after a body was found near Newtown Road at I-264.

It happened on Wednesday morning. Crews responded at approximately 8:41 a.m. after receiving reports of a body found near the entrance ramp to I-264 Westbound.

Officials say a white male was found in a tent by a homeless individual. Fire and Rescue crews declared that the body was deceased upon arrival.

State troopers are currently investigating the incident.

Police say so far, there is no foul play and the person died of natural causes.

The body has now been identified as Terrell Thomas.
