The team searches for a killer who thinks he can see when people are lying.

Motivational speakers have always bugged me. I mean, they are similar to the preachers I enjoy listening to, those who inspire and challenge me. But I guess without something foundational like a Bible to back it up, I’ve always just naturally assumed they were faking it. It made it kind of hard to relate to the victim on “Criminal Minds.”

This week’s killer had the complete serial-killer package, if you ask me. There was the tragic home life, lots of rage stored up, and terrible handwriting. No, think about it. When was the last time you saw a serial killer who had great penmanship? Not just a killer, a serial killer. It’s probably got something to do with all the craziness stored in their heads. Guess the neat-writing killer is going to be what catches me off guard.

Speaking of serial killers, I have a huge interest in learning more about them. My boss is probably starting to worry as she reads this. It’s part of what I like about this show, figuring out what makes the person tick. I love when Reid references real life killers. I have to pause the episode so I can do some Wikipedia surfing and figure out the full reference.

Back to the killer, I don’t know if I’d want to know whether people around me were lying or not. More times than not, body language can give it away. But to see it literally spelled out in front of me, no thanks. I think some lies protect us because we don’t have to know everything. We just think we do.

And that’s now two victims for our BAU stalker. Notice the theme? He’s killing them like the serial killers the team has been tracking this season. First he mimicked the silencer from the premiere, now it’s the doctor who was cutting off people’s legs. I wonder which killer he’ll use for inspiration next. Also, what did he want with Morgan’s glass?
