The Virginia Beach-based Task Force 2 Urban Search and Rescue Team is in New York City helping with the recovery from Hurricane Sandy. They are currently checking on the welfare of residents of Staten Island. There is 2-4 feet of standing water in the part of the island. They are working under the direction of the Special Operations Command of FDNY and FEMA.
