NewsChannel 3 is honoring Retired Army Captain Edwin "Doc" Schoen.
He served at Fort Hays in 1944 in the 5th Service Command, U.S. Army Veterinary Corps.
Doc founded the first veterinary hospital in Virginia Beach - which is now known as Beach Pet Hospital on Great Neck Road.
Doc recently celebrated his 90th birthday!
