Inmate dies in Southampton County Jail

The Southampton County Sheriff`s Office is conducting an investigation into the death of an inmate at the Southampton County Jail.

The cause of death is pending the Medical Examiner’s report.

The inmate was identified as Grant A. Gordon, 41. They say he was serving 12 years for distribution of narcotics.

He was found by deputies at 6 a.m. this morning.
