Meteorologist Myles Henderson’s First Warning Forecast

Less wind, more rain, and a warm up… Expect mostly cloudy skies again today with building rain chances through the day. We will start with a few showers and drizzle this morning (20%), to more widespread and heavy rain this evening (60%). It will still be windy today (E 10-20 G30) but not as extreme as yesterday. Highs will warm to near 70.

Our chances for rain and storms will increase on Friday as an area of low pressure tracks from the Carolinas across eastern Virginia. A strong to severe thunderstorms is possible. Highs will warm to the low 80s on Friday and winds will back down another step (SE/S 10-15).

Some leftover showers and storms will linger for Saturday, but rain chances will drop and more sun will mix in for the rest of the holiday weekend. Highs will return to near 80 on Saturday, then drop to near 70 for Sunday and Monday.

Today: Mostly Cloudy, Showers, Windy. Highs near 70. Winds: E 10-20G30

Tonight: Mostly Cloudy, Showers, Breezy. Lows in the mid 60s. Winds: SE 10-15G25

Tomorrow: Mostly Cloudy, Showers/Storms. Highs in the low 80s. Winds: SE/S 10-15
