The Worrell 1000 is a world-renowned Hobie Catamaran race that begins in Florida and goes all the way up the coast to Virginia Beach over the course of 12 legs.
The race was started by a bar bet between the Worrell brothers in Virginia Beach in 1974. 2024 also marks the 50th anniversary of the bar bet that started it all.
