LANDOVER, Md. - When the Washington Football Team hosts its first NFL playoff game in five years Saturday night, it will do so without fans in attendance.
In a statement released Monday night, the team says it will be unable to have fans at FedEx Field for Saturday's NFC Wild Card Playoff Game vs. Tampa Bay "following continued restrictions from the State of Maryland and Prince George's County regarding limitations on gatherings due to COVID-19."
Washington won the NFC East division title Sunday night to advance to the NFL's postseason for the first time since the 2015 season. The Burgundy and Gold's game vs. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is slated to kick off at 8:15 p.m. Saturday.
