LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. - Washington Football Team quarterback Alex Smith was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year by Sporting News.
The winners are selected by their peers around the league, and Smith received 90 percent of the vote.

Smith made his comeback to the NFL nearly two years aftrer his November 18, 2018 leg injury, which resulted in a broken tibia and fibula, and led to infections that resulted in 17 surgeries.
