WASHINGTON, D.C. - Quarterback Dwayne Haskins Jr. has been released from the Washington Football Team.
On Monday Head Coach Ron Rivera said he had been released.
In a statement Rivera said, "This afternoon, I met with Dwayne and informed him that we would be releasing him. I told him that I believe it benefits both parties that we go our separate ways. We want to thank Dwayne for his contributions these last two seasons and wish him well moving forward."
Haskins played against the Carolina Panthers less than a week after being fined $40,000 and stripped of his captaincy for violating COVID-19 protocols.
In Los Angeles, three Pro Bowlers had been ruled out of the Broncos-Chargers game: Keenan Allen, Joey Bosa and Bradley Chubb.
