NORFOLK, Va. (NSUSpartans.com) – Norfolk State will play a four-game spring football schedule next semester, as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced Monday a new composite slate of games for the seven conference football teams participating this academic year.

The conference schedule was revised from its earlier version after Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman opted not to participate in football this season. As a result, the other seven universities will now play four-game schedules against programs from their respective geographic divisions beginning on Feb. 20.

NSU will still compete in the Northern Division as previously announced along with Howard, Morgan State and Delaware State. The Spartans open on the road at Howard on Saturday, Feb. 20. Following an off week, NSU travels to Morgan State on March 6. NSU has home games on March 20 against Delaware State and April 3 against Howard, the lone team from the division that NSU will face twice.

The MEAC championship game is slated for April 17 on the campus of the team with the best conference record. The Division I FCS playoffs begin the following week, and the league champion will receive an automatic berth in the tournament.
