Nine area basketball teams advance to VHSL state title games

NORFOLK, Va. - Richmond, the Capital of the Commonwealth, will have a coastal Virginia feel this weekend. That's because nine teams from our viewing area will play for Virginia High School League (VHSL) state basketball championships at VCU.

Area boys teams advancing to state title games: Green Run (Class 5), Norview (Class 5), King's Fork (Class 4), Woodrow Wilson (Class 4), Lakeland (Class 3), Mathews (Class 1)

Area girls teams advancing to state title games: Princess Anne (Class 5), Hampton (Class 4), Surry County (Class 1)
