NBA referee, Virginia Beach native Brandon Adair donates money to local restaurant

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - National Basketball Association referee and Virginia Beach native Brandon Adair has donated money to Hot Tuna, a restaurant located in Virginia Beach, in an effort to help the business through the coronavirus pandemic.

"Good deeds don’t go unnoticed, we can’t thank Brandon Adair enough for his more than generous donation to our business today!!" Hot Tuna - which remains open for takeout, curbside pickup and delivery - said via Instragram. "He’s truly a stand up guy and an over all good person!! Customers like this will help our business get through times like these. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you!"

Adair is in the midst of his second season as an NBA official after refereeing 44 games in 2018-19.

The Princess Anne High School product played college basketball at Virginia Wesleyan, and two seasons of professional basketball in Germany.

Adair also donates his time to the Big Brother program at Bayside Elementary School in Virginia Beach.
