SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Following a highly-decorated season unlikely to be matched, Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah isn't going to try - he's headed to the NFL.
Owusu-Koramoah, the Bethel High School product from Hampton, announced his decision to enter the 2021 NFL Draft via social media Monday. Last month, he won the 2020 Butkus Award as the nation's top linebacker.
In addition to winning the Butkus , the senior was voted the ACC Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-America by the Associated Press. This season, he registered 62 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, an interception and three forced fumbles. Due to COVID-19, the NCAA granted all Division I student-athletes an extra year of eligibility, so Owusu-Koramoah could have returned to the Fighting Irish for another season.
