Huntington, W. Va. - Former Hampton University player and assistant coach Charles Huff is expected to be hired as Marshall football's head coach, as originally reported by Bruce Feldman.
Huff spent the past two season as the associate head coach and running backs coach with Alabama.
Huff was part of the Pirates' offensive from 2002-05 and coached Hampton's offensive line during the 2010 season. He also made coaching stops at Mississippi State, Penn State, Western Michigan, the Buffalo Bills, Vanderbilt, Maryland and Tennessee State, accumulating 16 years of coaching experience.
During Huff's time with the Nittany Lions, he worked alongside Old Dominion coach Ricky Rahne as part of James Franklin's staff.
According to 247Sports, Huff was ranked as the nation’s No. 1 recruiter in 2020.
