Samuel King joined the WTKR News 3 reporting staff as a Multimedia Journalist in Nov. 2023. He covers the Outer Banks and northeastern North Carolina. But it’s not his first time at the station or on the Carolina coast. He was an intern while a student at Northwestern University, and his first job was in Wilmington.
In between, he’s worked as a reporter and anchor in markets in New York, Alabama, Texas and Minnesota, most recently as an editor at Minnesota Public Radio News. He’s covered major stories like blizzards, tornadoes and elections.
Samuel grew up in south Alabama and Queens, New York and has family in Hampton Roads and North Carolina, so he’s glad to be closer to home.
Outside of the newsroom, he enjoys reading, exploring new places, and watching (and sometimes) playing sports.
He welcomes your story ideas so please contact him on social media or at Samuel.King@wtkr.com.
