VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — You don't have to fork over cash to see great light displays in Hampton Roads. A neighborhood display at 43rd street and Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach will delight most holiday light seekers.
From movie whimsy to colorful sparkly classics, the 43rd street display has a little something for everyone.
One home has been in Robin Ezell’s family since 1976 and she and husband Jeff say neighbors on this street have always decorated for the holidays.

“We just love watching people come up and down. We sit out here sometimes and hand out candy canes to the kids,” said Jeff Snyder.
The Butkovich family just bought their house three years ago.
“It's kind of an unspoken contract I think some of the houses actually do have it in the contract that when you move to this street its part of the deal,” said homeowner Bradley Butkovich.

Their yard is decorated with more than 10-thousand lights.
“You get to know all your neighbors and we all hang out and support each other. It’s a great street to live on,” said Stacey Butkovich. They even won the coveted Clark Griswold Award for best display.
“I just like to see the smiles on peoples’ faces and I like to sit on the front porch and play some Christmas music see the little kids walk by and their taking pictures with Rudolph,” said Bradley.

There’s even a walking path from 43rd street to the Cavalier where you can find the hotel decked out for the holidays with 122 of rhinestone-studded reindeer and 22 twinkling Christmas trees.
“We keep it on every night until the first of the year,” said Snyder.
The 43rd street display and the elves who made it possible are Positively Hampton Roads.
