HAMPTON, Va. — It's spooky season, and one Hampton family's commitment to the holiday is frightfully delightful.
“We do this to create a safe environment for the community to come and enjoy and have somewhere to go to get candy and be scared, and all the good stuff that Halloween is supposed to be," said Mike Woods.
Mike, his wife Becky and their daughter Miah have created a scary scene in their front yard.
“It’s really cool in the day but it gets way cooler at night with the fog and lights and blacklights everything glows in a different way,” said Miah Woods.
The Woods family spends thousands every year on decorations, and each year the display is different.
"I would spend whatever to see the look on the kids faces," said Mike. "It’s just enjoyable.”
Their home is located in the 500 block of Powhatan Parkway in Hampton. They invite anyone to stop by—if you're feeling brave.
