NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk is hosting a variety of events in celebration of its 12th annual Bike Month.
The city says Bike Month aims to raise awareness about the benefits of biking, including creating safer streets, connecting communities and creating a healthier planet.
The month-long occasion is sponsored by Lime, the e-scooter and e-bike sharing company that has vehicles available for people to rent throughout the city. The company is enthusiastic about the partnership and hopes this Norfolk Bike Month is “the biggest and best yet.”
Lime says the following events are happening throughout the rest of the month:
- National Bike to Work Week (May 15 - 19)
- Bike to Work Day (May 19 from 7 a.m. - 9 a.m.): There will be pit stops throughout the city where bikers can grab some water and fruit. There will also be giveaways at the stops.
