HAMPTON ROADS, Va. — Craft Beer Professionals (CBP) announced Monday that they received the "Best Craft Beer Industry Event in the Americas" 2023 Platinum Crushie for their CBP Connects in-person events.

The Craft Beer Marketing Awards, or "Crushies," are presented to those that excel in varying areas of craft beer marketing, according to CBP.

They began in 2020, and by 2021, expanded on a worldwide level. The levels of Crushie awards include platinum, gold, silver and global.

"We are extremely proud of how Craft Beer Professionals has evolved from a virtual community to creating in-person workshops. It is such an honor to be recognized by the Craft Beer Marketing Awards," said Andrew Coplon with CBP. "We are thankful for those who attended our inaugural workshops in 2022, and we look forward to continuing to provide a welcoming space for professional development."

Two other breweries in the area, Studly Brewing and New Realm Brewing, also took home multiple Crushie awards.

The owner of Studly Brewing Company, Blake Edmunds, said he's excited to provide Chesapeake and Hampton Roads with a nationally recognized brewery the community can call their own.

"What an honor to be recognized on a National level. I am excited to provide Chesapeake and Hampton Roads something that is top of its tier in America and a brewery the community can call their own. It's exciting to see the vision of bringing an amazing brewery experience to Chesapeake that expands beyond just beer," Edmunds said.

Studly Brewing Company received Gold in the Americas in three different categories.

Erik Leach, Director of Brand Marketing & Creative at New Realm Brewing said being recognized for all of the hard work is rewarding.

"We take a lot of pride in what we do, and from our beer labels to the overall experience at our Virginia Beach taproom and beer garden, it always feels great to know that it's being well received by those around us," said Leach.

New Realm Brewing took home many gold and platinum Crushies across multiple different categories, said CBP.

The next CBP in-person event, CBP Connects Milwaukee, will take place June 19-21. If you're interested, you can register here.
