CHESAPEAKE, Va — When you sit down at your local brewery, do you ever stop and admire the artwork on the beer can? If not, maybe you should, because there's a good chance the artist is local.

"Truly I've been doing art my whole life ever since I can remember." says local artist, Kendall Snyder.

Snyder moved to Virginia Beach in 2015 and painted mainly sea life. She was going with more of a beachy-theme.

When asked about her painting style, "I've always been drawn to graffiti-type, so bold, bright colors, thick outlines, just something that stands out." says Snyder.

It wasn't until someone asked her to do a pet portrait that her art really took off.

"I've become one of the main designers for Wasserhund, so I design beer labels for them as well as tshirts and merch," says Snyder.

And it really is a small world. As Snyder was showing me some of her artwork, I realized I owned a t-shirt she designed for Vibrant Shore Brewing Company.

Snyder has also designed the cover for the Virginia Craft Beer Magazine.

"As far as doing a little larger scale art, the first thing that kind of got my feet wet was, I was a part of the community fence project which is hosted by the VIBE district," says Snyder.

Snyder is hoping to be a part of the 10 day Mural Festival in the VIBE District. She says it's in the works!

"It's something I love to do. It's my passion. So truly to be a part of the community of talent that's coming out of this area, feels really good. And I can paint more than dogs! Whatever they want, I can do," says Snyder.
