CHESAPEAKE, Va. - On a hot July afternoon, Greg Newton is making his rounds.
"Growing up, I used to love the ice cream man," he told News 3 photographer Lydia Johnson, who tagged along as he passed out sweet treats to neighbors on Friday.
Newton has owned his ice cream truck, "Hey Ice Cream Man," for 25 years. He's a true jokester with his customers and a true staple of the Chesapeake community.
"The kids say it's the best ice cream truck in the world," Newton said proudly. "They go crazy. The adults go crazy, too."
It's not just the Bomb Pops that get folks excited - his truck is topped with tons of superhero figurines.
"[I] just love to see people smile... just love to see everybody happy, having a good time," he said.
This ice cream man is just getting started for the summer. If you want to get in contact with him, you can send him an email at gnicecreamman@gmail.com.
And you see him in your neighborhood, be sure to shout out, "Hey Ice Cream Man!"
