YORKTOWN, Va. - While we social distance to stop the spread of coronavirus, News 3 is spotlighting local restaurants that are saying, “We’re Open.”

Restrictions are hitting these businesses hard, so they’re offering takeout to make ends meet.

The meats are still smoking at Alpha Pitt Smokers on Hampton Highway in York County, and takeout orders are coming in.

Founder Jason Martocci started catering several years ago but opened up this physical location just last spring. Then, a month ago he finished an expansion with a bar that can’t even be used right now.

“Takeout has been keeping us afloat. I’ve been able to concentrate on keeping my employees working and doing whatever I can to make everybody out there happy,” Martocci told us Wednesday. “We’re putting meals together, comfort food together to make sure everybody has a little bit of comfort right now.”

Alpha Pitt Smokers is located in the Shops at Shady Banks on Hampton Highway. It’s open for takeout from 11 a.m to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
