HAMPTON, Va. - Police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting that killed a woman left a man hospitalized on West Mercury Boulevard late Friday night.
According to the Hampton Police Division, the call for the shooting came in at 11:48 p.m. Officers responded to the 2200 block of W. Mercury Boulevard, where they learned that two victims were shot while sitting in their vehicle and drove to a local hospital for treatment.
A 33-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the hospital and a 41-year-old man is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
On Sunday, police arrested Brian Latrell Fayne in connection with this incident.
Fayne has been charged with one count of second degree murder, one count of maiming, one count of shooting into occupied vehicle, one count of shooting in public, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Police say Fayne remains in custody at the Hampton City Jail.
