Suspicious package in Williamsburg deemed not a threat: Officials

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The City of Williamsburg said a suspicious package has been deemed not a threat.

Just before 5:40 Wednesday night, Williamsburg Police and Fire Departments were called to an area near 600 Jamestown Road for a report of a suspicious package. William & Mary police also responded.

Four buildings near the scene were evacuated, police said.

Jamestown Road was closed between Landrum Drive and Ukrop Road.

By 8:30 p.m., it was determined that the package was not a threat.
