NORFOLK, Va. - Just in time for July 4th weekend, celebrate our nation's naval history aboard the Battleship Wisconsin.
The ship and the rest of Nauticus museum are reopening on Friday, several months after the facility closed due to COVID-19 pandemic concerns.
In a release, Nauticus Executive Director Stephen Kirkland called it more than a re-opening.
"It's a reimagined guest experience that makes full use of our amazing waterfront site and resources," he said.
Beginning July 3, Nauticus is offering a discounted, battleship-only ticket. It's also offering new experiences on the ship and throughout the rest of the museum, including 'small group' activities like sailboat rides and behind-the-scenes aquarium tours.
The museum is also debuting 'Big Wisky Porch', an outdoor dining area overlooking the river and Half Moone Marina.
Visitors will explore the ship and museum using a one-way route to help social distance.
Battleship Wisconsin re-opens July 3. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.
