VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Virginia Beach Police is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at a gas station Tuesday night, May 31, 2021.
According to police, homicide took place in the 2400 block of Lynnhaven Parkway at about 9:14 p.m. When officers arrived on scene they found Jawan Johnson, 19, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations have led authorities to identify the shooter. Detectives say they aren't looking for other suspects in connection to the shootings and that there is no active threat to the community at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
