VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Delegate Glenn Davis announced Thursday that he intends to run for lieutenant governor of Virginia.

Prior to joining the House of Delegates, Glenn's website says he was twice elected to the Virginia Beach City Council in 2008 and 2012.

Davis took office in the House of Delegates in 2014 and currently represents a 50-50 district, winning reelection in 2019.

He won the Operation Homefront’s Cornerstone Award in 2018 for outstanding service assisting America’s military families. He also currently lives in Virginia Beach with his wife.

In a Facebook post Davis made on Thursday, he states that "After seeing our struggles in Richmond firsthand, it is more vital than ever to have strong, common sense leadership guiding the Commonwealth toward serious solutions."
