VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Virginia Beach 5/31 Memorial Committee has selected an architect to build a permanent memorial to honor the victims of the 2019 mass shooting at the municipal center.
Committee members had been looking at two designs for the memorial, presented by two design firms.
The committee unanimously selected Drills Architects.
The committee plans to present its recommendation at the next council workshop on April 4.
