NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - A lot of us want to do something to help right now but may not know where to start.

That's why one company is making it easy.

Verizon has come up with more than 150 virtual volunteer opportunities, and is encouraging its employees to get involved.

Caroline Ancheta, who works for Verizon in Newport News, was one of the first to sign up.

Some of the projects she’s been working on include writing letters for the elderly and sewing masks for healthcare workers.

She says finding ways to give back is personal right now.

"Four of my siblings are all in the healthcare industry," said Ancheta. "They’re all actually in ICUs working directly with COVID patients, and my mom... my mom too is in the medical field, so I just feel that in this time it is my duty and also my responsibility to volunteer in any way that I can."

She’s still working full time from home but says she finds time at the end of the day and on weekends to help out where she can.
