ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, Va. - Investigators with the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office have charged two men in connection to the murder of a 19-year-old found dead in a vehicle.
Police say 20-year-old Jaylin La’Shun Freeman and 19-year-old Shamon Reid-Wilkerson have been charged with the murder of Casey Dakota Cagle.
On December 6, police were called to the Beaverbrook Mobile Home Park around 11:00am after the body of Cagle's was discovered unresponsive in a car.
Officials later ruled the death a homicide after it was determined that Cagle died from a gunshot wound. Police say the motive for the murder appears to be robbery.
Freeman was arrested Friday night in Franklin. He is being charged with 2nd degree murder, robbery, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is being held in the Western Tidewater Regional Jail with no bond.
