HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - When Isaias finally hit our area Tuesday, thousands of people lost power in their homes and businesses.
According to Dominion Energy's Outage Map, as of 11:30 p.m Wednesday, there are still about 17,728 customers in southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina that are without power.
The company said a total of about 508,000 people lost power due to the storm and says initial assessments show Isaias ranks as the 10th largest and most damaging storm in Dominion Energy’s history.
Crews worked through the night to continue to restore power to those impacted by #Isaias. As of 7 a.m., nearly 80 percent of customers have had their lights turned back on. And we will continue working around the clock until all service is restored. pic.twitter.com/lXdZ4bxewE
