VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Allie Stephens has two loves and her U.S. Navy-themed restaurant, Anchor Allie's, is a combination of both.
"Between serving our country and serving people through food and making them happy every day, I was able to combine both of those," she told News 3.
So, with Tuesday, October 13, being the Navy's birthday, News 3 decided to stop in at Anchor Allie's for Takeout Tuesday!
The combined reserve and active duty Navy veteran owns two locations in Virginia Beach, Independence Boulevard and Shore Drive, and is very hands on with both.
They're known for serving up delicious breakfast and lunch options like benedicts, burgers and 'bomb'-lets. You can also warm up with a great cup of coffee or cool off with a handspun milkshake.
Seven months since the COVID-19 hit restaurants' bottom lines, Stephens says things are looking up.
"This week is the first time since the pandemic that we are fully staffed," she said. "We have about 50 employees."
Stephens tells News 3 she's been working in the restaurant industry more than 20 years where she's learned to be dedicated to her customers in giving them a positive experience.
