State Trooper struck while helping with a crash investigation in York County

YORK COUNTY, Va. - A Virginia State Trooper's vehicle was struck by a Jeep around 8:15 a.m.

According to a news release, the incident happened on Route 199/eastbound at Mooretown Rd., when the driver of a 1998 Jeep Cherokee, Katrina Longest, lost control of her vehicle causing it to spin out.

The driver rear-ended the state trooper.

No injuries were reported .

Longest was charged with reckless driving, failure to maintain proper control, and defective equipment due to bald rear tires.
