NORFOLK, VA – The City of Norfolk’s School Board held a meeting Wednesday, where officials made the decision to begin the fall athletic season for the following sports:
· Football
· Volleyball
· Golf
· Cross Country
· Sideline Cheerleading
· Competitive Cheerleading
The football season will start Monday, February 8, and the remaining sports listed will start the following Monday, February 15.
According to the news release, school officials say they will continue to monitor health conditions and follow the health mitigation guidelines distributed by the Virginia Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
If a student-athlete tests positive for COVID-19, the athlete will be required to get a doctor’s clearance before returning to the respective sport.
Press must reserve access to NPS facilities for practices and games, and go through COVID-19 mitigation screening before entering.
