PORTSMOUTH, Va. - During a Wednesday, July 29 meeting, the Portsmouth School Board voted to begin the 2020-2021 school year with virtual learning.
Superintendent Dr. Elie Bracy III recommended virtual learning for all students for the first nine weeks of the school year.
Portsmouth joins the Norfolk, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach school systems in turning to virtual learning for the beginning of the fall semester.
The school board will re-evaluate later in the school year.
This is a developing story.
