On September 8 just before 9:30 p.m., police responded to the 1900 block of Columbus Avenue for shots fired.

When officers arrived they located two females, one with serious injuries and one with life-threatening injuries, at the scene.

Both women were transported to a hospital for treatment. Police say a third woman walked into a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from the same shooting.

Police say one of the women, 31-year-old Erica Atkins, died at the hospital from her injuries.

Police have not released suspect information at this time, however, they did release photos Saturday afternoon of the person of interest wanted in this case.
