VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A person of interest is in custody after a child was shot in Virginia Beach Monday night, police say.
Around 9:44 p.m., a boy of unknown age walked into a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
A preliminary investigation suggests that the boy was shot in the 3900 block of Holland Road.
While a person of interest is in custody, this incident is still in the early stages of investigation.
Police say there is no continued threat to public safety.
