WINFALL, N.C. - A student at Perquimans Central School has tested positive for COVID-19.
Perquimans County Schools Superintendent Tanya Turner and Albemarle Regional Health Services Health Director R. Battle Betts Jr. sent a letter to families Monday notifying them of the diagnosis.
The student is currently self-isolating at home. To protect the student's privacy, their name, grade level or teacher's name will be kept confidential.
The school district is working closely with ARHS as health officials follow the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) guidelines on contract tracing people who may have had close contact with the student.
