POWELLS POINT, N.C. - An Outer Banks water park announced Friday that it won't open its gates for the summer.
H2OBX Waterpark's announcement comes as a result of North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper’s decision last week to extend the state’s current Phase 2 for reopening through at least July 17. The decision restricts amusement parks from operating.
The park, located in Powells Point, North Carolina, says it's looking forward to welcoming its guests and employees back to the park in 2021.
All 2020 season passes will be valid through 2021, and all 2020 season passes will receive one free complimentary single day admission ticket valid for the 2021 season.
Last week, Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA announced it won't reopen despite Virginia moving into Phase 3 on July 1.
