Norfolk man dies at hospital after bicycle crash

NORFOLK, Va. – A Norfolk man has died from his injuries he sustained after a crash at the intersection of W. 35th Street and Hampton Boulevard Tuesday evening.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on May 19, police were called to the 1200 block of W. 35th Street for a report of a crash with injuries involving a person on a bicycle. Officers arrived on scene to find the man suffering from serious injuries.

The victim, 57-year-old Columbus Brown Jr., was taken to a local hospital for treatment, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

The driver remained on scene and was not injured.
